WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND A GOOD COPYWRITER ?

Some of my 25+ years of experience as a writer and communications manager were spent on the client side. I was forever in search of capable writers who could offer strong conceptual abilities, skilled writing and practical, solution-oriented thinking.

Writers who could quickly grasp the objectives and parameters of a project, take the necessary time (and only the necessary time) to research the industry, the product and the current market environment, and deliver fresh, well-executed ideas that leapt off the page without jumping off the deep end.

Writers who wouldn’t call me a half hour before deadline and say they were running a tad behind and would Monday at noon work for me?

Writers who could participate in a meeting, if required, and ask intelligent questions without alienating the sales manager, irking the I.T. guy or causing the C.E.O. to squint in confusion. (You know that look. You see those executive brows furrow, nine times out of ten you’re dead in the water).

Despite a constant stream of promotional solicitations from scribes of all stripes, I learned that talented writers with good business skills to match their conceptual assets are scarce. Why? I don’t know, exactly, but when I found one, I held onto them for dear life --- and personally escorted their invoices to the Accounts Payable department, if necessary, to ensure they were paid on time.

So when I decided to leave the corporate world and return to freelance copywriting myself, I wanted to be the kind of writer I wanted to hire—and rehire-- when a project was too important to risk mediocrity.

My clients will tell you that whether you need a concept-through-execution, pull-out-the-stops-multi-media campaign that launches a new product, or descriptions for the six pages of socks in your fall catalog, you’ll get my full energy and attention.

I’m also easy to get along with, low maintenance, and deliver my work on time. As a bonus, I will never, ever, forward you email jokes, political messages or pictures of my pets wearing Halloween costumes, unless, of course, you ask.

Sound like someone you might want to work with? Take a look at my samples, then contact me.
